Ojuela Mines, Durango, Mexico

January, 2007

You pop out of the mountain at least once on the tour.

This place has a lot of ruins. There were apparently over 5000 people living here in the 18th and 19th century. Unfortunately someone has come through and removed all the wood from the old stone buildings (windows, doors, roofs, etc).

The old church.

More old ruins in the area.

Now they use the place for ecotourism. They stretched a cable across the gorge and you can zip-line across. Here this guys is trying to entice us to do the zip line.

And of course we have to do it! Here I am after trying to flip upside down.

Nothing like a hard day at work!
